Privacy Policy
Last updated July 27, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Vinride (“Vinride”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, discloses and safeguards your personal information when you use our apps, websites and services (together, the “Services”). We are committed to handling your data responsibly and giving you meaningful control over it.
Vinride is a demonstration brand. This document is an industry-standard template — review and adapt it with qualified legal counsel, and complete any [bracketed] details, before relying on it in production.
1. Information we collect
We collect information in three ways: information you give us, information created when you use the Services, and information from third parties.
Information you provide
- Account details such as your name, email address, phone number and password.
- Profile information, including a photo and saved places, where you choose to add them.
- Payment information, processed by our payment partners — we do not store full card numbers.
- Communications you send us, including support requests, ratings and feedback.
Information created when you use Vinride
- Location data, including precise GPS location during a trip and when the app is in use, to match you with nearby captains and enable navigation and safety features.
- Trip and usage details such as pickup and drop-off points, routes, fares, dates and times.
- Device and technical data such as device model, operating system, app version, IP address, and diagnostic logs.
- Cookies and similar technologies on our websites (see our Cookie Policy).
Information from third parties
- Payment and fraud-prevention providers who confirm transactions and flag risk.
- Partners you connect to your account, such as social sign-in or a corporate travel program.
- Public sources and vetting providers used to verify captains.
2. How we use your information
- Provide, maintain and improve the Services, including matching riders and captains and calculating fares.
- Enable safety features such as trip sharing, identity verification and incident response.
- Process payments and prevent fraud and unauthorized use.
- Provide customer support and respond to your requests.
- Personalize your experience and, where permitted, send you offers and product updates.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
3. Legal bases for processing
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of our contract with you to provide the Services; your consent (for example, for marketing or precise location where required); our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Services; and compliance with legal obligations. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
6. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services and for legitimate business or legal purposes — for example, to resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and meet accounting and tax obligations. Retention periods vary by data type and applicable law; when data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Residents of California and similar jurisdictions may request access and deletion and may opt out of “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
To exercise your rights, contact us at [privacy@vinrideltd.com]. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
8. How we protect your information
We use technical and organizational measures such as encryption in transit, access controls and monitoring to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work continuously to safeguard your data and to respond promptly to any incident.
9. International data transfers
We may process and store information in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal data across borders, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses to ensure a comparable level of protection.
10. Children’s privacy
The Services are not directed to children under the age required to hold an account in your region, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the Services. Your continued use of Vinride after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
